About the project

BGDemocracy is a place where anyone can say what they think about the topics Bulgaria is discussing today. No registration, no names, no ads.

Where the questions come from

Every morning we automatically read the publications of 12 Bulgarian outlets: Dnevnik, Mediapool, Actualno, 24 Chasa, Fakti, bTV News, Nova, Sega, Capital, Vesti, Novini.bg and Dnes. The stories most of them cover on the same day are the most talked-about ones. From those, an AI proposes two or three neutral yes/no questions in Bulgarian and English. A person reviews each proposal and decides whether to publish, edit or reject it. Nothing goes online without approval.

How voting works

Every question is open for seven days. You vote once per device and see the results right after your vote. Invisible checks stop automated votes without showing any tests to real people. Under every question we list the outlets it came from.

What this is not

The results show the opinion of the people who chose to vote, not of the whole population. They are not a representative sociological survey and should not be read as one.
